Statistical Uncertainty of DNS in Geometries without Homogeneous Directions

چکیده

In this paper, we present uncertainties of statistical quantities direct numerical simulations (DNS) with small errors. The are analysed for channel flow and a separation case in confined backward facing step (BFS) geometry. infinite has two homogeneous directions is usually exploited to speed-up the convergence results. As show, such procedure reduces results by up an order magnitude. This effect strongest near wall regions. over BFS, there no thus very long integration times required. individual converge square root time so, improve uncertainty factor two, simulation be prolonged four. We provide estimator that can used evaluate priori DNS relative from obtained Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes simulation. DNS, predict averaging it required achieve certain For accurate evaluation averages their uncertainties, not use every DNS. observe uninfluenced reducing number samples point where period between consecutive measured Courant–Friedrichss–Levy (CFL) condition units below one. Nevertheless, crossing limit, estimates start exhibit significant growth.

Homogeneous Geometries

For the purposes of this paper, a geometry will consist of a set together with a closure operation on that set, satisfying the exchange condition, and under which singletons are closed (for more precise definitions, see §2.1). The geometry is homogeneous if in the automorphism group of the geometry, the pointwise stabilizer of any finitedimensional closed subset of the geometry is transitive on...

Geometries of homogeneous spaces

θ. This definition is deficient as it depends on a choice of basis. A definition in R is that a rotation is a linear map g with an axis, a line L fixed by g, and on the orthogonal complement L⊥ of L the restriction of g is a two-dimensional rotation. For this to make sense, one must have understood that the two-dimensional definition is independent of basis, and that g does stabilize the orthog...

The homogeneous geometries of real hyperbolic space

We describe the holonomy algebras of all canonical connections of homogeneous structures on real hyperbolic spaces in all dimensions. The structural results obtained then lead to a determination of the types, in the sense of Tricerri and Vanhecke, of the corresponding homogeneous tensors. We use our analysis to show that the moduli space of homogeneous structures on real hyperbolic space has tw...

Statistical models on spherical geometries.

We use a one-dimensional random walk on D-dimensional hyper-spheres to determine the critical behavior of statistical systems in hyper-spherical geometries. First, we demonstrate the properties of such a walk by studying the phase diagram of a percolation problem. We find a line of second and first order phase transitions separated by a tricritical point. Then, we analyze the adsorption-desorpt...

Service-based Fog architecture without DNS redirection

The heterogeneous and distributed nature of the Internet of Things (IoT) is driving the need for extremely fast and fine-grained service provisioning in 5/5+G architectures and beyond. To meet these needs, it is critical to enable efficient and flexible computation and networking fabrics, that can be rapidly reconfigured to meet the computation and communication tasks at hand. In this article, ...
